The Prologue Is Real
The main character in ChampChase hits rock bottom in the prologue. Loses everything through consequences of his own actions. Has to rebuild from nothing.
That's not fiction. That's what happened to me.
About six months ago I lost everything through consequences of my own actions — I completely own that. It was the rock of all rock bottoms. The specific events are literally the events in the game's prologue.
All the story and dialogue in ChampChase is AI-generated, but it's based on everything I told it about myself. My life. How it was. What happened. The AI wrote the words, but the story is mine.
'My head is quiet when I'm training. It's never quiet otherwise.' I didn't write that line. But I felt it.
Right now I'm working part-time as a caretaker for a guy with a disability. It's honest work and I respect it. But the momentum on ChampChase was too real to slow down, so I'm wrapping it up cleanly this weekend. Going all-in. Pray to God and hope it either works out or I die trying.
I've never actually boxed. Tried it once — got hit a couple times, wasn't a fan. I'm a lover, not a fighter. But as a sport to watch, to root for, to play against your dad on the couch — that shit is everything. That's what ChampChase is. Not about fighting. About getting back up.
