How Much and Where
Morning almost ate me. Campaign voicelines + typewriter text ordering went sideways before coffee — the kind of broken that makes you question whether anything else ships today. Caught it. Fixed it. Done by 10.
Then the Claude sub ran out.
I took a screenshot, sent it to my dad. He answered in seconds. How much and where. Three hundred dollars hit the account five minutes later. Five minutes after that the Claude sub was back online and the DistroKid account was sorted. I looked at my balance. Eight dollars left. Ten minutes, end to end.
Six albums on Spotify. Fifty-four tracks. Twenty-three bucks on DistroKid. The Claude sub was the bigger piece — most of the three hundred went there.
Also today: Claude Opus 4.7 dropped. I switched the second it was available. The thing is so fast it feels like cheating — prompts come back with the plan already solved. My weekly allowance is going to evaporate twice as quick now. Every pass is going to land twice as hard.
So I pulled back on the game grind. Took the afternoon easier. Redirected onto music and social. The allowance is going to burn through before the reset either way — might as well burn it on something that ships an album at the end.
Phonk. Hardbass. Hardstyle. Lofi. Epic. Synthwave. Every track named like it belongs to a round — "Enter the Ring" through "Count of Ten." The arc is built in. You press play, you're in the corner. You press pause when they call the score.
Some of these fucking slap. I sat there grinning at my own game. Made a boxing game a recording project while I wasn't looking.
Seven new packs shipped today. Every one got a fresh handmade pixel icon in Aseprite, drawn from scratch. The legacy packs kept the art they've had since the beginning — nothing touched there. Every pack has a face now.
The site caught up. New OST section on the landing page — 22 icons in a pixel grid, 232 tracks total, "Hardstyle to Jazz. Every fight gets its own theme." Tap any icon, hear the pack. Full OST page behind it. The music used to live inside the build. Now it has an address.
Spotify for Artists is a whole process I didn't know existed yesterday. Canvas specs — 720×1280, 8 seconds, 30fps, under 8MB. Editorial pitch windows. Artist profile claim. I read the checklist. I did the checklist. Six albums queued for review, sixteen more covers on the rails.
That was the music.
Ninety-nine passes still shipped today between the game and the site — the morning save, the music plumbing, the OST section going live, a stack of readability fixes. Game went 514 to 602. Site went 123 to 133. Combat VFX finally render above the HUD — punches, knockdowns, fireworks, exactly where they're supposed to be. Achievements popup stopped ghosting on cold boot. Training drills that went invisible last week came back with a one-component fix. The prologue's OD flashback has its background art. Mobile stopped clipping. The iPhone doesn't lie anymore when you open champchase.net.
Fifteen screens got a readability pass. Fonts 14pt to 22pt+. Row heights 24px to 52px. Speed buttons on the fight screen finally render where your thumb actually is.
Then I mapped the next thirty days. Day by day, tomorrow through May 16. The calendar already decided. I just show up and execute.
Forty minutes ago: checked my weekly.
80%. Four days to Monday. Already rationing — take it easy, save the tail end for fixes that actually need tokens.
Checked again.
Zero. Anthropic reset the weekly mid-Thursday. No heads up. Just a fresh week, dropped on a Thursday.
Counting was the whole thing. Closed testing is a few reset cycles out and I'd been tracking backwards from it — tail end of this one, then another, then another, then two days. Tight. Real tight. Now one of those cycles just got unlocked for free.
I'm not on heavy lifts right now. Polish. Final fixes. Edge cases. A11y. SEO. iPhone stuff. The kind of thing you normally defer when you're rationing.
Now I don't have to defer.
Big difference.
Six albums. Twenty-three dollars. Ninety-nine passes. Seven new packs. Seven new icons drawn pixel by pixel. One catastrophe caught before lunch. Eight bucks in the account.
Three hundred from my dad. No questions asked.
A fresh week from Anthropic. No warning either.
The soundtrack left the building.
